General Secretariat of Conference of Arab Parties strongly condemns US aggression on Syria, Iraq

Beirut, SANA- The General Secretariat of the General Conference of Arab Parties on Saturday has strongly condemned the US aggression that targeted public and private facilities in Syrian and Iraqi territories, stressing that it is a new violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries, and the safety of their people.

The General Secretariat said in a statement: “The brutal aggression reinforces the state of instability in the region, and is a miserable attempt to relieve pressure on the defeated Zionist entity and to divert attention from its crimes in the Gaza Strip.”

“It has also baecome clear that the United States poses a direct threat to global peace and security, and its role in manufacturing and investing in terrorism has become exposed,” the statement added.

The statement elaborated: “The continued US occupation of parts of Syrian territory and its presence, which is rejected by the Iraqi Council of Representatives, is clear evidence that the explicit practices of the US administration are a lack of respect for the sovereignty of peoples and a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the principles of international law, and its permanent goal is to provide support to the Zionist entity and its tools of terrorist organizations.”

The statement called for condemning, rejecting and confronting the aggression, the withdrawal of the US occupation forces from both countries, and the cancellation of its military bases in West Asian countries.

The Secretariat expressed support for the Syrian and Iraqi peoples and armies, and the right of the two countries and the countries of the region to resist this brutal occupation.
