Kazakh Foreign Ministry: 21st Astana International Meeting on Syria will take place on January 24 and 25

Astana, SANA- The Kazakh Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the 21st round of the international meeting on Syria under the Astana format will be held on January 24 and 25 of this January.

“The 21st of the international meeting on Syria will be held within the framework of the Astana process in the capital of Kazakhstan on January 24 and 25 at the invitation of the guarantor countries”, TASS news agency quoted Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov as saying.

The final statement of the guarantor countries at the 20th international meeting on Syria in the Astana format, held last June, stressed its condemnation of the practices of countries supporting terrorist entities in northern Syria.

The security and stability in that region can only be achieved on the basis of preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that joint action must continue to combat terrorism and reject separatist agendas and repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, the statement affirmed.
