Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Hussein Arnous stressed on Thursday during his meeting with the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Hossein Akbari, the importance of the meetings of the Syrian-Iranian Joint higher Committee that was held recently in Tehran, and the results it reached through signing important agreements and understandings in a number of vital areas.
Arnous pointed out the need to follow up on the implementation of these agreements according to specific time programs, which will reflect positively and directly on the economic situation in both countries.
Arnous stressed the need to strengthen the work of the business sectors in Syria and Iran, expand cooperation between them, launch joint projects that are economically feasible, and take all measures to ensure the smooth flow of trade exchange.
The Syrian government’s keenness to open broader horizons for joint work, especially in the economic, commercial, industrial and financial sectors, with the presence of important investment opportunities in the country, Arnous noted.
In turn, the Iranian Ambassador said that the revitalization of bilateral economic relations receives all the attention of the Iranian Government.
Akbari stressed the importance of establishing a joint committee to follow up the implementation of bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding.
