Smelting plant in Hama province returns to work thanks to national efforts

Hama, SANA- The smelting plant at the General Company for Iron and Steel Products in Hama province has restarted after its rehabilitation was completed with national expertise and competencies.

“The factory includes two smelting furnaces with a manufacturing capacity of about 400 tons per day, and produces about 120 tons of billets”, Minister of Industry, Abdul Qader Jokhadar said in a statement to reporters after supervising the factory’s restarting operations.

The industry minister pointed out that benefiting from local expertise in the process of restarting the factory represents an added value, as the process of maintaining or operating the two smelting furnaces locally has become possible at any time and with high readiness.
