Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned Saturday the use of veto by the United States at the United Nations Security Council session on a draft resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza.
The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement that this veto shows for the umpteenth time that the United States is not only an accomplice in this massacre, but is the one that is waging a war in the Gaza Strip with the sole purpose of annihilating the Palestinian people and the establishment of the “Great Israel” over the bodies of Palestinian children and women, and the destruction of homes and cultural heritage.
The Foreign Ministry assured that “Damascus expresses its conviction that the support of Western countries and the United States for “Israel,” which boast of the so-called “Israel’s right to self-defense,” is the height of hypocrisy.
“This support can only be interpreted as permission for “Israel” to continue its massacre and murder against Palestinians,” the Ministry concluded its statement.
