Arnous meets Syrian Businessmen in UAE and Director of Arab Gulf Fund for Development

Dubai, SANA-Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, met on Thursday a group of Syrian expatriate businessmen in the United Arab Emirates.

During the meeting, Arnous discussed with the Syrian businessmen many investment opportunities available in Syria, the facilities provided to investors, and the exemptions granted to them in accordance with the Investment Law which contributed to securing a suitable and attractive investment environment in various domains.

The Prime Minister said Syria welcomes the participation of emigrant national capital in the reconstruction process, and its keenness to provide all support and facilities to those who wish to invest in Syria, particularly in cities and industrial areas, and to work in partnership with the public sector in many urgent service and development projects.

For his part, Syrian businessmen expressed their desire to invest in Syria and establish more projects in health, educational and service sectors in a way that serves the process of economic and  social development, stressing that the decisions related to investment in Syria created an atmosphere of satisfaction and a step to establish investment projects, particularly in the agricultural, industrial and alternative energy fields.

 Later, Arnous discussed with Mr. Nasser Al-Qahtani, the Executive Director of the Arab Gulf Fund for Development, means of cooperation between the Syrian government and the Fund to establish many projects, especially in the fields of education, youth, health, and rural development.

Prime Minister said Syria welcomes cooperation with the Fund to establish service and development projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of the targeted spectrum, particularly in rural areas, noting the great interest that the government gives to micro, small and medium projects.
