Damascus, SANA- Syria and UNICEF discussed on Tuesday means to enhance and develop joint cooperation.
That came during a meeting held held at the Ministry headquarter in Damascus between Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louai al-Munajjid, and Representative of UNICEF for Syria Yasumasa Kimura.
Both sides discussed ways to benefit from the UNICEF technical skills and expertise in the field of drafting laws related to correctional care and the begging phenomenon.
Al-Munajjid underlined the importance of finding a sustainable solution to these social problems through conducting multi-dimensional studies measure the reality of children from all aspects of life.
He noted to the Ministry’s desire to benefit from the organization’s experience in the field of capacity building for NGOs to contribute to community development.
The minister also affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to provide all the necessary facilitations for the organization’s to implement its programs, especially with regard to cash assistance program to help the Syrian children with disabilities.
For his part, Kimura hailed the support and facilitations provided to the organization’s work in Syria, stressing the intention to develop cooperation mechanisms in a way that would improves the organization’s work.
