Syrian-Arminian talks to enhance bilateral cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, discussed Monday with an Armenian parliamentary delegation headed by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hakob Arshakyan ways to strengthen Syrian-Armenian relations in all fields, especially the parliamentary ones.

Sabbagh said that Syria has suffered and is still suffering from the scourges of the terrorist war that has been waged against it for more than 12 years with the support of the United States and its allies.

He added that the Turkish regime continues with all brutality its crimes against the Syrian people by cutting water off more than one and a half million citizens in Hasaka, in addition to stealing resources and supporting terrorists.

For his part, Head of the Armenian parliamentary delegation described as deep and strong the Armenian-Syrian relations which extend for hundreds of years, stressing the necessity of consolidating relations in all domains.

Arshakian appreciated the strong Syrian, Armenian relations and expressed his country’s thanks for Syria’s stance on the crime of genocide against the Armenians at the hands of the Ottomans.
