Beirut, SANA-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said policies of western officials, particularly the French and Britons, are based on lie, hypocrisy and double standards.
“A lot of those officials don’t see other than their personal interests and low stances of their governments at the expense of reality,” Mikdad said in an article published by Lebanese al-Binaa newspaper on Saturday.
He added the US and European states have issued a lot of decisions which increased the suffering and pains of the Syrian people and deepened the crisis, wondering how the French and British governments can impose sanctions on the Syrian people and claim they serve the Syrian people in particular.
Mikdad pointed out to the issuance of a resolution by the EU, imposing sanctions on a number of Syrians under the pretext that they “work in a project to use chemical weapons,” affirming this is untrue as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons ( OPCW) has proved it contradicts with what has been fulfilled in this domain.
He went on to say that the West deals with terrorists and terrorism in Syria and the other countries in “a tricky way”, where they support the terrorist war on Syria, waged by remnants of Muslim brotherhood and their allies of the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra.
Mikdad said that the collapse of the US, EU values and stances in front of narrow interests and hollow mottos indicate to the sterility of the EU polices, clarifying that Syria joined a lot of voices in Europe that reject the double standard policy and low stances to warn against the danger of going on in these polices which lost their credibility.
