Moscow, SANA- Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian drone in the airspace of the Russian Belgorod region.
TASS news agency quoted Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement on Friday: “Its air defense systems were able to repel an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with a drone on targets in Russian territory, and the target was destroyed over the territory of Belgorod District.”
“The Kiev regime’s attempt to hit Russian facilities with an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle was thwarted at about 9:00 a.m. Moscow time on August 26. On-duty air defenses destroyed the drone over the Shebekino District of the Belgorod Region,” the statement reads.
Russia’s Belgorod border territory is under constant attack by Ukrainian forces with drones, rocket and artillery shells as Russian forces repel them and shoot down and destroy most of them.
