Beirut, SANA- The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X Yazigi condemned on Friday the Israeli occupation forces’ shelling of a church in the Gaza Strip.
The solidarity of an Antioch church with the Church of Jerusalem after the vicinity of St. Porphyrius Orthodox Church, the third oldest church in the world, Patriarch John X expressed via a phone call with Archbishop of Kyriakoupolis in Amman, Christoforos, according to the Lebanese National Media Agency.
Israeli occupation aircraft shelled on Thursday St. Porphyrius Orthodox Church in al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southern Gaza, killing a girl and a woman and wounding dozens of people with various injuries, as well as causing material damage to the church.
Palestinian families resorted to churches and their buildings, as a result of the intense and continuous Israeli occupation shelling of Palestinian homes.
