Khaji, Pedersen discuss developments in Syria

Tehran, SANA- The latest developments in Syria were discussed by Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian foreign minister’s senior advisor for special political affairs, and the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen.

Both sides stressed during a video call the importance of resolving the crisis in Syria through the political dialogue along with solving the humanitarian issues and the return of the refugees, according to IRNA news agency.

Khaji pointed out to the harsh situation being experienced by the Syrians, stressing the urgent need to cancelling the unjust sanctions imposed on Syria as soon as possible, in addition to halting the ongoing plunder of its resources along with providing international assistance.

The Iranian diplomat voiced his hope that the UN offices, mainly the UNHCR, would contribute in returning the Syrians to their homeland.
