Syrian-Iraqi talks on water, agriculture and exchanging products

Damascus, SANA Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohammed Hassan Qatana, discussed with a scientific and technical delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources, headed by the advisor in the ministry, Eng. Aladdin Taher Najm, the water and agricultural reality in the two countries.

The reality of these two topics were dealt in light of climatic changes, low amounts of rain, and a decline in water resources from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

The meeting also dealt with exchanging agricultural products and exempting Syrian agricultural products exported to Iraq from customs duties.

In turn, the head of the Iraqi delegation stressed the importance of developing cooperation with the Syrian side and exchanging agricultural products.
