Health Ministry: No “Hepatitis A” epidemic in Syria

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry said on Thursday that “Hepatitis A” cases registered in Syria are considered within natural average and there is no disease epidemic according to the satndards of World Health Organization.

Health Minister Nizar Yazaji said in a statement to SANA that the Ministry is following up procedures to keep health in general and protect citizens from infections through holding field tours to the shops, restaurants and schools.

“Anyone can avoid hepatitis A and decrease the potentials of infections through adopting a number of simple principles, most importantly, personal cleanness, washing hands with water and soap, washing fruits and vegetables,” The Minister added.

He affirmed that the disease is not fatal with high rates of recovery within two weeks.
