New York, SANA-Syria decided to extend the permission granted to the United Nations and its specialized agencies to use the two crossing points of Bab al-Salam and Al Ra’ee for three months, ending on August 13, 2023.

Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, twitted on Saturday that “this decision comes out of Syria’s keenness to consolidate stability and improve the living and humanitarian situation for all Syrians. It also part of its efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to all those in need.”.

Sabbagh added that “the decision takes into account the continuing needs resulting from the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on February 6.”
