Damascus, SANA- Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louai al-Munajjid, discussed with UNHCR’s Representative to Syria, Sivanka Dhanapala areas of joint cooperation between the two parties, to support livelihoods, micro-enterprises, community centers, and mechanisms for their implementation and development.
During the meeting, minister al-Munajjid highlighted the importance of joint cooperation in projects that meet the needs of the returnees from the displaced and the most vulnerable groups in society, and achieve sustainable development in the targeted areas.
He also underlined the importance of continuous communication to overcome the difficulties that impede the implementation of existing projects in various provinces and to benefit from the mission’s expertise in the field of developing the legislative environment governing the disability sector.
For his part, Dhanapala explained the UNHCR’s efforts to support the return of refugees in neighboring countries and the internally displaced in cooperation with partner government agencies.
He referred to the level of cooperation and facilities provided for the success of the UNHCR in its tasks.
