Health Ministry launches campaign to boost routine vaccination for U-5 children

 

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry launched a campaign to follow up vaccination dropouts and to boost routine vaccination for under-5 children.

SANA’s reporter said that the campaign will last till May 11th in different provinces.

The campaign is being implemented, according to the Director of Primary Health Care Department at the Ministry, Dr. Razan Tarabishi, in 981 health centers and through 821 mobile teams covering various regions, with the participation of 5345 health workers.

According to Dr. Tarabishi, the campaign aims to assess the vaccination status of about 2 million and 800 thousand children in various provinces.

She noted that the aim of the campaign is to ensure that children complete all the vaccinations included in the national vaccination program, follow up on children who drop out of it, give them the vaccines they deserve, and provide them with a new vaccination card if it is not available.

It is noteworthy that the vaccines included in the national vaccination program enhance the immunity of children and protect them from dangerous childhood diseases, namely polio, tuberculosis, tetanus, measles, rubella, diphtheria, mumps, whooping cough, hepatitis and other diseases.
