Nine dead in armed attack on Ecuadorian fishing port

Quito, SANA- Nine people were killed in an armed attack on a fishing port in northwest Ecuador on the border with Colombia.

According to local media, a group of 40 assailants armed with pistols and rifles arrived at the port in the morning, and began shooting at merchants and employees working at the warehouse before fleeing the scene.

Nine people were killed in the attack and four others were injured, according to the local media which noted that no one claimed responsibility for the attack.
