Ambassador Ali Ahmad: The real concern for the Syrian interest demands swift lifting of coercive measures

Geneva, SANA- Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Haydar Ali Ahmad, stressed that Syria categorically rejects the mandate of the so- called “International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic” and its fabricated reports, saying that the real keening on the Syrian interest must entail swift lifting of the unilateral coercive measures violating the human rights.

“The fabricated report presented today is full of misleading as it is a part of the Commission’s approach” Ambassador Ali Ahmad said in a statement during the interactive dialogue with the commission within 52nd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, adding the commission that must works with neutrality, bias and reliability, has proven that it is politicized and immortal depending in all its reports on open sources and false witnesses.

Ali Ahmad pointed out that the authors of the report deliberately ignored the crimes of terrorist groups over the past years, and their fabricated report did not include any reference to these crimes or to these groups, they wrote it even without the word “terrorism”, despite the documentation of these crimes in several reports issued by the Security Council.

He added that the report’s authors knowingly adopted fabricated evidence, manipulated information, and used cunning phrases and vague terminology, nothing but to make baseless accusations against Syria and its allies.

The representative of Syria to the UN Office in Geneva stated that the committee continued its approach even with regard to the earthquake disaster as it exploited this disaster to launch a new set of lies departed from reality in an attempt to obscure the efforts made by Syria and the real reasons that hindered search, rescue and recovery efforts, foremost of which are the measures taken. On the contrary, the commission continued to mislead about the truth of these measures and to describe their effects as “unintentional”

If the authors of the report and the countries behind them are truly keen on the interest of the Syrian people, why they do not acknowledge that ending their suffering does not require suspicious mechanisms, false reports, or false accusations against the Syrian government and its allies, but rather requires an immediate end to the unilateral coercive measures that violate the basic rights of the Syrian people, including their right to life and reconstruction, Ali Ahmad went on to say.

Ali Ahmad reaffirmed Syria’s readiness to cooperate with all those with honest intentions to improve the human reality.
