During the opening ceremony, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Arab Parties Qassem Salih, underlined that the convening of the conference in Damascus today is the Arab parties’ declaration of their solidarity with Syria in the light of the conditions it face , in addition to the humanitarian catastrophe that claimed the lives of thousands of victims and destroyed the infrastructure.

The Secretary-General pointed out that the agenda includes visions and mechanisms that can be put to provide aid to Syria, saying: “We are betting on peoples and parties because they mainly represent the Arab popular movement.”.

Saleh referred to the necessity of activating joint Arab partisan action, as this emergency session is being held in Damascus, beating heart of the Arab nation , as the Arab nation is going through challenges aimed at dividing its unity and sowing discord in it in service of the Zionist enemy and its hostile scheme, indicating that the Americans have waged a number of wars in the region in service of this enemy.

“When America and its allies failed to achieve their goals through the global war, they imposed unjust blockade under the title of the so-called “Caesar Act” to put pressure on Syria and its people, “Saleh said.
