Governor of Lattakia discusses with Brazilian Ambassador Immediate earthquake response plan

Lattakia, SANA- Governor of Lattakia Amer Hilal discussed Monday with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil André Luiz Azevedo dos Santos the repercussions of the earthquake that hit Syria on 6th of February and the challenges the governorate is facing.

 Ambassador Santos affirmed that his country is keen on providing immediate priority needs within the government earthquake response plan to those affected to receive the support they so desperately need; in addition to carrying out certain activities to alleviate the psychological impact of the catastrophe, particularly on children.

Hilal, for his part, referred to the extent of damage caused by the devastating earthquake and the initial relief response in addition to the action plan concerned with securing alternative housing and demolishing buildings in danger of collapsing.

He thanked Brazil stances in support of Syria and, saying the governorate welcomes all initiatives contributing to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the earthquake.
