Ankara, SANA- The death toll in Turkey from last month’s devastating earthquake has risen to 47,975.
“The disastrous earthquake has claimed the lives of 47,975 people, including 6,278 foreigners, and work is ongoing to remove rubble, set up tents and build prefabricated and permanent houses for the affected people,” Anadolu News Agency quoted Disaster and Emergency Management of Turkey (AFAD) as saying.
On Feb. 6th, two earthquakes hit southern Turkey, followed by thousands of aftershocks that caused the death of thousands, in addition to massive damage to property.
