Iran expels two German diplomats — statement

TEHRAN, SANA- Iran has declared two German diplomats personae non gratae and demanded their expulsion from the country, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani Chafi said on Wednesday.

“Iran is expelling two German diplomats who have been declared personae non gratae. The priority for Iran is to continue cooperation in an atmosphere of respect, but the disregard of some countries for our sovereignty leaves no other choice,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel quoted him as saying.

According to the spokesman, the reason for the expulsion was Germany’s interference in Iran’s domestic affairs and the ongoing trials in Iran. The names and positions of diplomats are not given.
