Lavrov, Pedersen discuss mobilizing international aid to overcome quake effects in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed on Tuesday in Moscow with the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen the tasks of mobilizing international assistance to overcome the repercussions of the earthquake in Syria, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Sputnik quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement, “There was a detailed exchange of views on the current situation in and around Syria.”

The statement noted that the urgent humanitarian tasks represented in mobilizing international assistance were addressed, including overcoming the consequences of the earthquake and providing comprehensive support to all the needy and affected Syrians without politicization or preconditions.
