Minister Makhlouf: Importance of delivering aid to quake-affected in fair way

Aleppo, SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Chairman of the Higher Relief Committee, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf discussed during a meeting with members of Relief Subcommittee and the Operations Room in Aleppo Governorate, the procedures taken to secure the qualified and temporary centers to shelter the quake-affected and provide them with all necessary supplies.

 Minister Makhlouf called for the need to update the database of all the aid relief and medical materials that arrive through the airport or by land and send the lists of aid to the Higher Committee in order to deliver them to the needy among the affected.

He underscored the importance of activating the role of local councils, mayors and neighborhood committees to participate in supervising operations of shelter centers and organizing work there.

Makhlouf hailed the efforts exerted by the operations room in Aleppo and the speedy response according to developments and requirements, underlining the necessity to develop implementation plans and programs to complete evaluating the damaged buildings and work to equip the shelter centers.

For his part, Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, pointed out that a number of sites were selected to be equipped with all necessary services to establish prefabricated houses

A number of the sub-committee members gave a brief presentation regarding the measures taken to address the repercussions of the earthquake disaster in short time.
