People’s Assembly calls for removing west sanctions imposed on Syria

Damascus, SANA-People’s Assembly on Monday called for lifting sanctions imposed on the country.

During a regular session chaired by Speaker, Hammuda Sabbagh, the Parliament demanded immediate, urgent and unconditional actions to lift the unjust blockade and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Members of the Assembly said that all countries and international organizations have to assume their full responsibilities in that regard, and take what is necessary to provide assistance to the Syrians affected by the earthquake in order to ease their suffering.

They also called for keeping away from politicizing the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the earthquake in Syria.

In this regard, Speaker Hammouda addressed 46 identical messages to speakers of councils, brotherly and friendly countries, appealing the international community to move and immediately lift the unjust blockade imposed on the Syrian people to overcome the impacts of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria.
