Interior Minister, Head of ICRC discuss joint cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammad al-Rahmoun, discussed with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, the joint cooperation relations.

Al-Rahmoun stated that the Syrian state cooperates with international organizations, including the (ICRC), where assistance is provided to facilitate their work to help the Syrian people.

Al-Rahmoun said that since the first moments of the earthquake, the state, along with the local activities and the (ICRC), rushed to rescue citizens, treat the injured, remove the rubble and provide the necessary needs for those affected despite the difficult circumstances and the few possibilities in light of the inhumane sanctions imposed on Syria and the theft of the country’s resources of oil and wheat.

Al-Rahmoun pointed out that there are thousands of citizens who have become homeless and they are in need to build their houses that has been destroyed by the earthquake.

In turn, Head of the ICRC indicated that the committee is working to provide aid and emergency needs as soon as possible, in coordination with the Syrian Red Crescent.
