Iran stresses the need to increase international aid to earthquake-affected people in Syria

Tehran, SANA- ranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed the need to increase international aid to the people of the earthquake-affected areas in Syria and Turkey.

Abdullahian said during a phone call with the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres,, that it is expected that the Deputy Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretary-General of the United Nations will pay special attention to this issue, referring to his country’s readiness to provide all forms of humanitarian assistance to those affected by the earthquake.

In turn, Guterres affirmed that the UN Deputy for Humanitarian Affairs will go to Syria and Turkey, and the United Nations will use all its capabilities to help the victims of the earthquake, including in Syria.

We consider helping the Syrian people as a purely humanitarian issue, Guterres said.
