Tunisia expresses solidarity with Syria, affirms continuation of providing humanitarian aid

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received Wednesday a phone call from Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Ammar, during which he conveyed the condolences and sympathy of Tunisian President Kais Saied and the Tunisian people to the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Minister Ammar expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and those affected by the earthquake that rocked Syria.

“The humanitarian aid provided by Tunisia comes to alleviate the human suffering of the Syrian people,” Minister Ammar said.

In turn, Minister Mikdad congratulated Minister Ammar on his appointment as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia, wishing him success in performing his duties.

He also extended thanks for the high solidarity expressed by the Republic of Tunisia and its leadership towards the Syrian Arab Republic, and Syria’s appreciation for the humanitarian assistance and support provided by Tunisia to face the repercussions of this natural disaster.

Mikdad highlighted the depth of relations between the two countries, and Syria’s aspiration to further develop cooperation with brothers in Tunisia in a way that would serve the interest of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
