India offers condolences to Syria over earthquake disaster

New Delhi, SANA- India voiced its sincere condolences to the Syrian government and people over the earthquake that hit the country on Monday dawn and resulted in hundreds of victims.

“India is ready to help the people affected and to send urgent humanitarian aid to Syria” said Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Murli Dharan who paid a visit to the Syrian Embassy in India.

Syrian Ambassador in New Delhi, Bassam al-Khatteeb, in turn, thanked the Indian government for this rapid response, as well as the Indian people for standing by the Syrians in their ordeal.
