Syria ,UAE to boost bilateral ties in electricity field

Abu Dhabi, SANA- Minister of Electricity, Ghassan al-Zamil, discussed Thursday with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail al-Mazrouei, bilateral relations and issues related to energy production.

Minister al-Zamil referred, during the meeting on the sidelines of the “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) “, to the current challenges facing energy production in Syria as a result of Western unilateral coercive measures and the lack of fossil fuel which in turn reduced electricity generation from 10,000 to about two thousand megawatts.

Minister al-Mazrouei, for his part, hailed the brotherly relations between the two countries to which UAE attaches high priority.

The two sides underlined the importance of leveraging international platforms to deliver Syrian voice for obtaining a human right to access clean energy as a basic human right.
