President al- Assad receives message from President Lukashenko on prospects of developing bilateral cooperation

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received on Thursday Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, and an accompanying delegation.

Golovchenko handed over a message to President al- Assad  from the Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, on relations of friendship binding the two countries and prospects of developing bilateral cooperation.

President al-Assad described the visit of Belarusian delegation as important, not only in terms of agreements that were signed between the two countries, but also to explore specific areas of cooperation and launch it in a practical way for establishing joint investment projects.

President al-Assad indicated that Belarus is being targeted because of its strategic location in the heart of Europe and the independence of its decisions and policies, stressing that the West is pursuing a policy of waging wars which help its constant control; “because if these wars stop, system of domination will be dismantled”.

The President went on to say that the Western States failed to achieve their goals through that policy in many countries such as Syria, Russia and Belarus, so that they turned to economic wars, considering that unifying efforts among these countries is significant for confronting these wars, as well as establishing a network of economic relations with countries of similar principles and values,”which will eventually isolate the West.”

President al-Assad thanked Belarus for standing by Syria in the face of the terrorist war through its firm positions towards Syria’s unity and territorial integrity.

The Belarusian Prime Minister, for his part, affirmed that areas of cooperation with Syria are unlimited, noting that institutions in Belarus have prepared for setting up several projects and exchanging products between the two countries.

“Belarus is looking forward to constant meetings among institutions of both countries to expand the productive sectors and reactivate joint projects”.

“The world is undergoing the most profound transformation since World War II”, Golovchenkom added, “Several new alliances have been formed among countries that pursue policies independently of the West”, referring to the Western campaign on Belarus during the past two years to deteriorate living conditions and paralyze economic facilities, not to mention psychological warfare and propaganda to influence public opinion.

Golovchenkom expressed appreciation to Damascus supporting Minsk through the hard times, asserting that their battle is one.
