Tropical storm Nalgae death toll in Philippines nearly 100

Manila, SANA- At least 98 people have died in the severe tropical storm that battered the Philippines over the weekend, triggering flash floods and landslides in many parts of the country ,while 63 reported missing, the Philippines authorities said Monday.

Xinhua Agency quoted the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council as saying that 35 deaths were from Bangsamoro Region in the southern of Philippines while the rest of the fatalities were from nine regions on the main Luzon island, in the central Philippines, and other areas on Mindanao island in the southern Philippines.

The agency said “Nalgae affected over 1.8 million people, damaged 364 roads and 82 bridges, and caused power outages in many areas.”
