Lavrov stresses ongoing support of Russia to Syria until restoring security and stability to the country

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia will continue its supportive approach to Syria and its people until the restoration of security and stability to the country, including providing the necessary aid to support Syria’s steadfastness in the face of the economic blockade and the unjust sanctions imposed on it by the West.

This came during a meeting Tuesday with Syria’s Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riad Haddad upon completing his mission in Moscow.

Lavrov stressed the deeply –rooted relations binding Russia and Syria in various fields, which have been consolidated throughout the past years, noting that the two countries have made achieved significant cooperation at military, political, economic, cultural, parliamentary and popular levels.

Lavrov thanked Haddad for his fruitful work in Moscow, praising the great role he played in deepening the friendly relations and enhancing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

For his part, Ambassador Haddad reiterated Syria’s continued support for Russia in its special military operation in Ukraine aimed at correcting the international system to serve all the peoples of the world.

Haddad stressed the need to raise the level of the Syrian-Russian cooperation, particularly in the economic field as that the two countries are facing the same economic war and the same tools.
