Syria discusses technical cooperation with International Labor Organization

Beirut, SANA- Syria and International Labor Organization discussed cooperation to resume activities of the organization in Syria.

Assistant Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Muhammad Firas Nabhan and Director of Regional Office of International Labor Organization, Ruba Al-Jaradat, discussed a number of issues related to resuming the activity of the Organization in Syria, opening projects office in Damascus and promoting capacities of workers.

Nabhan underlined the importance of the organization’s support for Syria, especially during this stage, in order to meet the requirements of recovery in the labor sector in general to protect workers’ rights.

Jaradat, for her part, underscored the importance of opening a representation office of the organization in Damascus, in coordination with the organization’s administration in Geneva.

She stressed the organization’s desire to resume technical cooperation and work in Syria to achieve more cooperation between (ILO) and the labor market and UN partner agencies.
