New York, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed on Thursday with his Algerian counterpart, Ramtane Lamamra, the latest developments in the Arab region, as viewpoints were identical on the necessity of unifying the Arab stance and boosting the Arab joint action against dangers and challenges.
Talks during the meeting that was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, affirmed that the Palestinian cause and liberation of Arab territories occupied by Israel is still the main and basic issue.
Mikdad expressed Syria’s confidence in the role that may be played by Algeria to unify the Arab rank and restore the spirit of solidarity among Arab states.
In turn, Lamamra reiterated Algeria’s firm stance in support of Syria to maintain its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
In the same regard, Mikdad met his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman al-Safadi, with the two sides affirming the need to boost bilateral relations in all domains in the interests of both peoples.
The talks also underlined the importance of keeping Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
