Russia calls for Security Council session to discuss Ukrainian attacks on Zaporizhzhia plant

Moscow, SANA-A source in the Russian mission to the UN said that Moscow had called for a session of the UN Security Council tomorrow to discuss the Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the source as saying that this call came in view of the Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia plant and their possible catastrophic consequences.

Another source in the UN Security Council noted that Russia would like Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, to present a report on the situation at the plant before the session.

The United Nations had announced earlier that it was working to organize a visit by IAEA experts to the plant to study the situation there.
