Beijing, SANA- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated that Taiwan is part of China and that the full reunification of the two sides is a historical inevitability.
Wang’s remarks came in a comment on US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.
“China will not leave room for the action of the forces calling for Taiwan independence,” Wang said, stressing that all efforts by the United States to support the so-called “island independence” will be doomed to failure.
According to Wang, the United States has turned into the “main destroyer” of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the Asia-Pacific region, which once again proves that some US politicians are sabotaging Chinese-US relations.
Yesterday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry summoned the US ambassador to Beijing, Nicholas Burns, to hand him a note of protest against Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.
