Damascus,SANA-The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus held on Thursday a reception on the occasion of the 75th Independence anniversary.
Pakistan’s Ambassador in Damascus Saeed Muhammad Khan affirmed that Pakistan’s relations with countries of the world are based on a deep belief in justice and equality, respect for the independence and territorial integrity of all countries and non-interference in the internal affairs of any of them.
Ambassador Khan noted the deep-rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Syria and their participation in similar stances in all international forums, stressing his country’s continued support for Syria in the war on terror.
The Ambassador said that a Pakistani commercial delegation will visit Syria next month to discuss areas of joint economic cooperation and help the Syrian people break the unjust blockade that has escalated their suffering.
For his part, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bashar Al-Jaafari described relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries as deep and historical, hailing the support provided by Pakistan to Syria in international and regional forums.
Al-Jaafari appreciated appreciated Pakistan’s clear and courageous stance towards the ordeal Syria has passed through, saying that Pakista has exerted great efforts to ease the fierce campaign against Syria and its steadfast people, and has stood by its side in the fight against terrorism.
Al-Jaafari expressed Syria’s appreciation for the assistance provided by Pakistan to the Syrian people at all levels, extending his congratulations to Pakistan on the anniversary of its independence from British colonialism.
