Presidential decree extends exemption on medicinal production requirements from customs’ tariffs and taxes

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad issued on Thursday Legislative Decree No. 12 for 2022 that extends work with the rules of Legislative Decree No. 14 for 2020 until July 31,2023.

The decree comes in support of the medicine industry sector and in view of the necessities resulting from the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria and the resulting increase in the costs of transferring the value of imports of raw materials into the pharmaceutical industry on the owners of local pharmaceutical factories, and the high costs of shipping and insurance.

It extended the exemption on pharmaceutical and medicinal production requirements and raw materials from customs’ tariffs and taxes.
