Jakarta, SANA- Syrian basketball team qualified for the second round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2022 tournament, which is currently being held in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, and that came after its winning over Kazakhstan today, 77-67 points.
Although the Kazakh team advanced in the first quarter by 26-16 points, the Syrian team achieved a high performance in the second and third quarters by 21-7 points and 24-13 points.
The Kazakh team reduced the difference in the fourth quarter, which ended with 21-16 points as the difference between its result and the result of the Syrian team remained 10 points in favor of the Syrian team.
The qualification of our team came after it ranked third in the third group after the teams of Japan and Iran to play with the second group in the fourth group according to the championship system.
The Syrian team had lost its first match against its Iranian counterpart, with a score of 67-80 points, and against Japan, 117-56 points, at the end of the first round.
