More than 17,000 people evacuated from Ukraine, Luhansk and Donetsk in one day

Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday the evacuation of 17,000 people from Ukraine and the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics to Russia during the past 24 hours.

“17,474 people were evacuated, including more than 2,900 children from dangerous areas in Ukraine and from the People’s Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk to Russia during the day, and 4,322 private cars crossed the Russian border last day.”, Tass news agency quoted Head of the Russian National Defense Management Center, Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev as saying in a statement.

Mizintsev added that more than 9,500 temporary accommodation centers continue to operate in the Russian regions, where efforts are being made to help refugees find jobs, receive social subsidies and medical assistance.
