Syria, DPRK sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of air transport

Pyongyang, SANA- Syria and the DPRK signed an air services agreement and a memorandum of understanding in the field of air transport.

The memo was signed by Raed Habib, Syria Chargé d’Affairs in Pyongyang, on behalf of the Syrian side. According to the agreement, the aviation authorities of the two countries shall have the right to designate airlines companies to operate the agreed upon airlines, providing mutual indirect tax and customs exemptions, including fees for importing spare parts, and recognizing certificates and licenses issued by the two parties to the contract.

The agreement also refers to the obligation of protecting civil aviation security in the airspace of each party, ensure its safety.

The agreement between both parties stipulated that, the aviation authorities of the two countries have the right to appoint airlines for the purpose of operating the agreed lines, providing mutual exemptions in customs and indirect taxes, including fees for importing spare parts, and recognizing certificates and licenses issued by the two parties to the contract, as the agreement refers to the obligation to protect civil aviation security in the airspace of each party and to ensure its safety.

The agreement also indicate several cooperative articles, such as traffic, revenue transfer, financial tariffs, commercial activities, date exchange, and providing consultations and expertise.
