Syria, Oman discuss ways to exchange experiences between opera houses

Muscat, SANA- Syria and Oman have discussed means of cooperation between the Royal Opera House Muscat and Dar Al Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

That came during a meeting that brought together Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubanah Mshaweh, and Omani Assistant Secretary General Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers, Member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Opera House Muscat, Kamil bin Fahad Al Said.

The exchange of experiences in several areas of reviving and preserving intangible heritage, artistic performances, reviving musical heritage, and presenting joint shows with the participation of a number of Omani academic musicians at concerts performed by the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Band for Arab Music in Damascus were also on the table.

Mshaweh reviewed the Syrian cultural scene during the war years, and she highlighted the tireless efforts made by Syria to qualify generations of academic musicians at different ages through musical institutes and the Higher Institute of Music.

The Omani side expressed admiration for this rich experience, hoping to transfer it to Oman in the near future.

Mshaweh visited Bait Greiza in Muscat and attended a historical presentation about the place, the stages of its restoration and rehabilitation, and a detailed overview of it.
