Damascus, SANA- A cycling marathon was held on Friday on the occasion of the World Traffic Day and Arab Traffic Week under the slogan “your safety”
Students from al-Sham Private University in Damascus participated in the marathon which was organized by the university branch of the National Union for Syrian Students, the Traffic Department in the Ministry of Interior, and the General Sports Federation.
The marathon set off from the Public Telecommunications Establishment towards the University headquarter in Baramkeh area with the aim of raising traffic awareness and the need for drivers and pedestrians to abide by traffic laws and regulations in order to avoid traffic accidents.
The traffic process concerns all segments of society and everyone should participate in achieving the traffic safety slogan, the Director of the Traffic Department, Jihad al-Saadi, told SANA’s reporter in a statement.
