Polyansky: The West uses Ukrainians as fuel for the war against Russia

UN, SANA- Russia’s first Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, has affirmed that the West is using Ukrainians as “fuel for a proxy war” against Russia.

“Western colleagues worry about Ukraine and the Ukrainians are very pushy and selfish; They need them today only as a fuel in a proxy war against Russia,” Polyansky said at a UN Security Council meeting yesterday

He noted that calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine are aimed at giving Kyiv a chance to catch its breath.

“Extremists and neo-Nazis do not hesitate to hide from our army in the Azovstal factory in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, and after a month of siege, they said that all this time there were civilians with them and they did not talk about this before and in this way they revealed themselves again because civilians can be found there as human shields only,” Polyansky added.

He went on saying “You are trying to rewrite modern history in an anti-Russian manner and you are colluding with the craziest speculations of some of our colleagues in Eastern Europe regarding the role of the Soviet Union in liberating Europe and the whole world from Nazism. It seems that this makes it easier for you not to notice the blatant manifestations of neo-Nazism in Ukraine, which makes the de-Nazification of this country one of the goals of our special military operation.”

Polyansky stressed that the goal of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine is to protect the people of Donetsk, Luhansk and Russia from the threat coming from the territory of Ukraine, pointing out that this must be done for the Ukrainians who have become hostages of their authorities.
