Syrian-Iranian talks to enhance cooperation in health sector

Tehran, SANA- Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Shafiq Dayoub, discussed with Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Treatment, Dr. Muhammad Hussein Niknam, means to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, medicines and medical equipment.

During a meeting at the Iranian Ministry of Health on Tuesday , Ambassador Dayoub indicated that there are opportunities for cooperation in the field of localizing the manufacture of some rare and quality medicines and medical equipment by making use of technologies ,modern science and exchanging research, laboratory and production experiences.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of addressing the difficulties that impede enhancing cooperation between pharmaceutical companies and medical devices in Syria and Iran, noting that holding a virtual meeting between the authorities concerned at the two health ministries would contribute to strengthening joint cooperation.

For his part, Niknam affirmed his ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Ministry of Health in all possible fields, stressing the importance of boosting this cooperation and transferring mutual expertise particularly in the field of knowledge companies and technology.
