Beijing, SANA-China renewed on Wednesday its rejection of US sanctions against Russia, stressing that these unilateral coercive measures are unacceptable.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a press briefing, according to TASS, that the United States bears a special responsibility to respect the rules of the global economic order and maintain its stability, stressing it is not permissible to oblige other countries to pay the price of Washington’s unilateral sanctions.
Zhao said the US government should correct its old mistakes and provide assistance to Russia-Ukraine peace talks.
China reiterated on Tuesday its stance against imposing sanctions on Russia or sending weapons to Kyiv, considering that this measure will not bring peace to Ukraine.
