Dubai, SANA- The Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai obtained on Wednesday the Gold Theme Interpretation Award.
The International Committee on Exhibitions of the Organization of UNESCO decided unanimously to award the Syrian pavilion the gold award for the pavilion’s ability to implement the concept of sustainability, one of the basic concepts set by the Expo administration as a basis for organizing the global event.
The award was received by the Commissioner-General of the pavilion, Chargé d’affaires of the Syrian Embassy in the UAE, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, who affirmed in a statement to SANA that wining the golden award is an honor to the ancient Syrian Arab culture and civilization and to the Syrian people.
Dr. Abbas thanked the entire Syrian pavilion staff, the Syrian Trust for Development, the administration of Expo 2020 Dubai and the UAE, which supported the Syrian participation.
