New York, SANA- Iran renewed its call for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of foreign forces present in Syria illegitimately.
Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Majid Takht Ravanchi said in a speech during a meeting of the UN Security Council on Thursday that, “The crisis in Syria cannot be resolved without ending the occupation and uprooting terrorist threats, , and Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity cannot be exposed to danger under the pretext of fighting terrorism so that the illegal presence of the occupation forces, including the US forces, must leave this country immediately and without any restrictions or conditions.”
Ravanchi added that “Iran condemns once again the looting of the natural resources of the Syrian people, especially oil and agricultural crops in the areas occupied by foreign forces,” noting that this criminal act is a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the Charter of the United Nations.
Ravanchi also denounced the continuous Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, calling on the UN Security Council to hold the Zionist entity accountable for it, as well as its blatant threats to use force against countries of the region, which endangers security and peace in the region.
